It would be nice to have a neighborhood picnic even if it was at a park where people brought a dish to pass and the Springbrook association provided the hotdogs/hamburgers??? Or possibly someone who has a pool in the nighborhood would want to have a neighborhood pool party? Just a thought!

I would like to suggest that we continue to have an annual picnic (for families) and then later in the year (or summer) have an adult party.
The picnic and Spring egg hunt is nice if you have children, but since I have no children, I feel out of place attending.

As new members of the community, we welcome the chance to get to know more neighbors. I think the annual picnic is a great opportunity for people to meet and, for some, to reconnect. We’d be happy to help in planning the event so that it doesn’t fall to the same people to run it year after year.

I do enjoy the opportunity to mingle with neighbors at the picnic. I think we could eliminate the jumping toys which are costly and make it just a picnic. Perhaps we could use the money to provide some food and drinks. Also, I think the Ox Roast weekend is so busy that it might be better attended at another time.

I think a get together of some sort in the summer would be great. The hard part is picking a date/time that the majority are around. Many I know go away nearly every weekend in the summer. Possibly on a week night from 6-9?

I agree, a summer gathering is a great idea. It reminds me of the block parties we used to have when we were kids! It seems like we are all so busy these days. Keep it simple. What a great way to build a strong neighborhood community where we all know each other a bit better! I would be happy to help as well.

I think we should definitely continue the summer gathering - it is especially nice for the new neighbors.

It is great to see all the positive comments regarding the picnic. The comments regarding eliminating the costly rental equipment are especially helpful. If there is someone willing to volunteer to chair a new picnic committee, and a location for the party is identified, the prior comments demonstrate the needed support. As a suggestion for location, we can close off one of the culdesacs, and have a “block party”.
