Forsberg Development originally purchased the 127 acre parcel of land and began to build houses on it in 1986. At the time of purchase the land had a private dirt road running through it. Forsberg Development paved the road and dedicated it to the City of DeWitt and it became what is now Schavey Road. The first homes were started east of the road as quarrying for the two lakes and development of the common areas and tennis courts began west of the road. The land made the transition from farm land to quarry to residential neighborhood gradually. Construction of the first home west of Schavey Road was completed in May of 1990. Although both of the lakes are man made detention ponds they are also spring fed and have connections to the river to handle run off from the storm sewers of the entire association.
